Caldbeck Surgery has an established patient group called ‘Caldbeck Surgery VOICE’.
The project’s key aim is to involve patients in the planning and development of services and to ensure that the services provided reflect the wishes, needs and priorities of the practice population.
The group was initially recruited via the practice newsletter. Fifty volunteers originally identified themselves as willing to take part by agreed criteria e.g. age, gender, location, type of service user and areas of interest.
Since the initial set up, Caldbeck VOICE has been involved in a number of initiatives which have resulted in improvements with the service at the Surgery. Patient views from the VOICE group have been obtained via a variety of methods:
We carefully consider all the opinions and feedback from our VOICE groups and implement changes to our services when appropriate.
Caldbeck Surgery VOICE has been singled out as an example of excellence in patient and public involvement within the NHS and other practices have since adopted our idea.
If you would like to be a member of our VOICE group please either email or telephone our practice manager Miss Deborah Harman.
