The surgery will contact you should a result be abnormal requiring further treatment or investigation.
Most blood results come back within a week but some take longer.
Cervical smear results are sent to you directly at home and usually take 6-12 weeks to process.
Tissue sample results from minor operations generally take up to 2 weeks - we would contact you if there are any concerns.
Swabs taken, eg. from wounds or urine samples, usually take at least 3 days.
